MONUMENTAL AND EXCEPTIONAL DINING ROOM FURNITURE FROM Louis MAJORELLE (1859-1926) including a table and eight chairs, a sideboard, a sideboard and a wall lamp. Chicory" model in moulded and carved oak. Sideboard forming an opening console with two inlaid leaves. It opens with a drawer on the belt. Marble top. Size : 45 x 122 x 138 The sideboard opens in the lower part by two leaves with inlaid decoration of flowers and two drawers in the belt. Side shelves in a quarter circle. The upper part presents two "caisons" with three drawers on either side of a covered space surmounted by two glass panels and side shelves. Rounded bottom with inlaid leaf decoration. Size of the lower part of the sideboard: 102 x 224 x 57 cm. Size of the upper part of the sideboard: 159 x 215 x 35 cm The table rests on four legs decorated with chicory leaves and the chairs with curved and openwork backs are covered with pink silk decorated with flowers. Dim table : 74 x 156 x 129 cm Chair size : 100 x 43 x 48 cm Moulded, carved and inlaid cartel with naturalist decoration. Pewter dial showing the hours in Arabic numerals. Dim cartel : 113 x 37 x 19 cm Mirror with pediment decorated in its center with a flower and two side shelves in the lower part. Label on the back mentioning Cirey and the year 1907. Les Manufactures de glaces et verres de Saint-Quirin, Cirey et Monthermé are a family owned limited company with several glass factories specialising in glass and mirror making. The main competitor of Saint-Gobain's Manufacture des Glaces de Saint-Gobain, the two factories merged in 1858. Dim mirror: 191 x 140 cm Louis-Jean-Sylvestre Majorelle, usually Louis Majorelle (Toul, 26 September 1859-Nancy, 15 January 1926), was a French cabinetmaker and decorator of the Art Nouveau movement of the École de Nancy, of which he was also vice-president.
