VERY BEAUTIFUL BRONZE "IN WHEAT" by Léon DESCHAMPS (1860-1928) Bronze with brown patina representing a woman holding a sheaf of wheat under her left arm and a sickle in her right hand. Signed Stamps "Susse frères éditeurs Paris" and "fabricants de bronze UNIS". H : 62,5 cm Léon Deschamps was a student of Auguste Dumont, Émile Thomas, Hippolyte Moreau and Léon Delhomme at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in 1887, joined the Société des artistes français in 1896 and became a professor at the École Estienne in 1900. Deschamps' production consists mainly of portraits on medals and plates on allegorical subjects, as well as various sculptures.
