EXCEPTIONAL AND IMPORTANT MAZARINE MARQUETRY CHEST OF DRAWERS FROM THE LOUIS XIV PERIOD Attributed to Renaud GAUDRON (c. 1653-1727) Opening with four drawers on three rows Front with two cul-de-lampe, crossbow-shaped uprights terminating in capridized sabots Rich floral marquetry on a background of blackened wood, ebony and rosewood on three sides and the top, depicting in the center a flowering vase on an entablature flanked by foliage, foliage animated by masks, bird and butterfly. Chased and gilded bronze ornamentation, ove frieze moulding, keyhole escutcheons with mascarons. 18th century 82.5 x 121.5 x 73 cm Very good condition
