Francisco Batet Pellejero studied painting at the Academia Tárrega in Barcelona.
There he met painter Angelina Lavernia, whom he married on January 5, 1949.
Based on José Mallorquí's scripts, he draws the comic strip adventures of "El Coyote" until 1951.
François Batet then worked as an illustrator for various periodicals (France-Soir, France Dimanche, Confidences).
He then turned to illustrating novels for young people, first for Éditions Gautier-Languereau and then for Éditions Hachette.
In particular, he illustrated many of Jules Verne's novels, as well as several classic adventure stories.
Since 1977, he has devoted himself to painting; his favorite theme is the depiction of female characters from the 1920s in the Art Deco style].
