AGITATED SEA" by Jean-Daniel LAMY (1968) Dry pastel on paper, framed under glass, signed and dated "IX/VI/1994" lower right. Dated on the back of the frame, with studio stamp. Size: 48 x 61 cm (view) Good condition Jean LAMY is a wildlife artist with a passion for the marine and forest worlds. From an early age, he discovered the underwater world through multiple dives, falling in love with its diversity, colors and shapes, and remaining forever amazed. His discovery of the forest world began when he left Paris for the countryside. He settled with his parents in Senlis and began sketching animals on his walks. After studying graphic and textile design in Toulouse and Paris, he turned to oil painting on silk paper, wood and drawing on paper. Jean has exhibited his work at the Musée de la Marine at Porte Maillot in Paris, the Musée d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris and the Musée Océanographique in Monaco, among others. He takes part in the Festivals de l'Image sous-marine d'Antibes and Nausicaa in France, Dive Show in Las Vegas, Beneath the Sea in New Jersey and Go Diving Show in Birmingham and London. His creations appear in books such as "Poisson" by the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco and "Cuir de Russie" by Monelle Hayot Editions d'Art. He takes part in a number of projects, notably in 1992 for Éditions Gallimard and Éditions d'arts Monelle Hayot, in 1993 for the poster "La route historique du cheval" for Hermès, design for Crayola packaging and for the atelier Serpaut, Hargittai and Baccarat.
