KACHAN CARPET (IRAN), LATE 20TH CENTURY. - Lot 264
KACHAN CARPET (IRAN), LATE 20TH CENTURY. Dimensions: 300 x 210cm. Technical features : Wool velvet on cotton backing. A cream and ivory multi-lobed lozenge medallion, with polychrome vegetation and pendants, sits at the center of an undulating oblong counter-field covered with multicolored floral scrolls. The four arabesque sky spandrels framing the whole are set on a pistachio field with small flowers. The main pistachio border features a succession of polychrome corollas hanging from interlacing foliage. It is flanked by two ivory counter borders and four highlights, all six with garlands of flowers. A pleasant, homogeneous set.
