IMPORTANT AND FINE BIDJAR RUG (PERSIA), 1st THIRD CENTURY OF THE 20th CENTURY Wool velvet on cotton backing. A magnificent, large polychrome floral rosette sits at the center of a cherry field covered with delicate multicolored floral stems. Four spandrels of ivory, sky and brick floral arabesques frame the whole. A plant braid runs the length of the frame. Two large ivory counter-borders with rose garlands and two smaller pink ones with flower garlands enclose the main navy frame, with a succession of blossoming corollas and grape leaves on interlacing polychrome flower stems. Sublime graphics, shimmering colors and great distinction. Dimensions: 453 x 334 cm Good condition Sold by designation
