IMPORTANT KOUBA RUG (CAUCASUS), EARLY 20TH CENTURY Wool velvet on wool foundation. A navy field sown with multicolored florets and floral stems supports alternating starry and ruby cruciform corollas, embellished with stylized ivory birds in pure Kouba taste. Two brick counter-borders with garlands of florets frame the main sky with undulating plant stems enriched with polychrome flowers in full bloom. Beautifully distinguished. Dimensions : 402 x 180cm.
