SILK GHOUM (PERSIA), SHAH PERIOD, MID-20TH CENTURY Silk velvet on silk foundation. Density of 560,000 knots per square meter. A midnight-blue field hosts a majestic tree of life, with leafy branches and polychrome flowers. In the shade of two young saplings, cervids and canids gambol, while the canopy serves as a refuge for numerous birds and other predators. Two pistachio-colored counter borders with plant garlands frame the main champagne with a series of blossoming flowers, interspersed with a multicolored bestiary of images. Great poetry.
