Stamp of foundryman "LNJL Paris" for "Les Neveux de Jules LEHMANN". Art Deco period 35 x 37 x 17 cm Marcel André Bouraine (1886-1948) is a French sculptor. He studied sculpture under the direction of Joseph-Alexandre Falguière. Captured by the Germans during the First World War, he was interned in Switzerland. Back in Paris, he exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries in 1922. After beginnings still impregnated by academism, Bouraine reveals himself in the 1925s as one of the most representative sculptors of Art Deco. Bouraine was a member of the French Artists Society and participated in the Salon d'Automne. In 1928, he collaborates with Gabriel Argy-Rousseau who commissions several sculptures from him, as well as sometimes with his friend Pierre Le Faguays. He also exhibited two monumental sculptures at the 1937 Universal Exhibition in Paris.
