Jacques BILLE (1880-1942) Planter, Tureen, Plate, Grapes on an Entablature Oil on canvas signed lower right and dated 1926 On the top rail of the frame, a handwritten inscription in ink Exhibition Galerie Georges Petit 69 x 94 cm With frame Bille is known for his representations of flowers and his pastels. Officer of the Academy, member of the jury of the fine arts section of the National Horticultural Society, member of the National Fine Arts Society, he obtained an honourable mention in 1922. He exhibited in 1924 at the Royal Society of Belgium, then in 1926 at the Royal Academy, as well as in Paris (Galerie Georges Petit, 1929), Lyon, Saint-Dié, Le Havre, Roubaix, Lille and Liège, among other cities. His works are kept at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and at the Musée de Toulouse.
